GYRG is doing recrutment for youths who have intreast insoccer this month starting from 1/12/2009 till next year first weekend,were tagetting around 15 players to be registered per week both boy and girls from the age of 10 to 20 years of age.

Following this execise, four of our coaches has been invited to SEP-Kenya for coaching cours that will start on 7 of Dec,2009 of which one of our coach will be one of the Instructors for period of one week.

 Under - 16 beat Karateng to book there place in the provincials to be played in Kisii town at 3 - o .the team started the day sowell to see them throghw.following the siniors footsteps which are on the edge of playing in the top league in Kenya.

THREE FOR SEP-KENYA COACHING COURSE.

       Three have been named for the Sep-Kenya coaching course in Oyugis. The three organizations are realy working in there pertnership by bringing the course for the youthfull coachess in the region, the trainging will go for round a week starting on 7/12/2009 to 14/12/2009 and the arangements has been made for the three for the period.They are; Risper Muthuko, Akumu Judith and Joseph Oginga, this will bring the number of coachess in GYRG to 8 with six on basic course, one on TC1 while the Director on the TC3 on a KNVB - Nethrlands and he is also one of the KNVB trained Soccer Instructors in wester Kenya-Kisumu.

   Our Under 14 years are the champions of the manyatta girls championship overthe weekend by beatng Shauri-moyo girls 2-0,the goals were scored by our teams prolific top score Rose Atieno "Macheda" in the second half after along ball was through in to behinde the defence, she out sprinted the defence line to put us up after 58 minutes.She was on the mark againe 10 minutes to full time by driving unstopeble short fom 30 yards to give us the game and her being named the player of the match.

    The team has also landed an invitation to play in Oyugis against SEP-Kenya Under team in the mid of this month.

GYRG are successful in the girls Nationwide tournament Kisumu 2009. The tournament hosted 25 teams of girls both under 13 and over 13 years old, fromall corners of Kenya. The teams came from Nairobi, Luanda, Kisii, Kisumu, Suba,Nakuru and Killifi.

 

The over 13 years old games was won by Galactico youth United team who wonover Killifilis. Moving the goal post MTG in finals at Kisumu Jomo KenyattaSports ground. The host won 5-1.

 

Mercy «Messi» was named as the girls best player, with Caroh Atuma getting the best keeper, as Lucy Nyaberi got the top score with 40 goals in thetournament, and Joseph Oginga was named the best coach. The former champions Kisii, came third in the tournament after beating Nakurus, Yhe Walkers, 2-0.

 

In under 13 years old, Suba Lakers of Suba beated the Galactico Youth from Kisumu 1-0 in the finals that drown the comparison with the senior sideof  fans. They swept all the prices accept of the youngest player of the tournament which went to Galacticos Jecycker Adhiambo who was 9 years and two months old by the tournament.

 

The group has also registered two girl teams in the Kisumu girls league 2009which Galactico Youth United are going to play in the Champions league finalson the 4. of october at Kisumu Moi municipal stadium, while the other youthfulside were beaten to third place with 1-0 score.

 

The group agreed terms and conditions to network with SEP-KENYA, starting inthe 30. of september 2009. The two directors Mr. Joseph (GYRG) and Mr. Festus(SEP) have been doing all the work to see the groups work together for both toreach their goals and aims plus missions.

 

The GYRG head coach has been named among four up-coming instructor of football in Kisumu(Western Kenya).

 

On the 22. of september 2009 GYRG recieved new under 13 girls that has interest in playing soccer ane three over 13 yeras, which really boosted the squad to be playing in the finals.

 

The 19. of september GYRG trained two on trauma and crisis management through YWCA (Young women christian association). The two Mr. Oginga and Mss.Jane are doing well by training and sharing what they learned.

 

GYRG is working on sponsorship to students who are very skill-full football players to join one of the four High School, Jera mixed secondaryschool, Sega girls high school, Bishop Muge mixed secondary school and Butere girls high school. The four schools are known schools in the field of football in Kenya and has been participating even in inter- secondary schools in EastAfrica. Bishop- Muge and Butere girls are doing it for free and here is where we have our girls.  

 

The 4. of october 2009 GYRG United became the Kisumu Youth Football Association girls league 2009 champions again, after beating KYOC girls in the finals. The only goal was scored by the all time GYRGs top scorer Jecinter Ongoye «Andriano» in the second half, after Evelyne Mohammed had collected three deffenses in the far box of 18 area, which her tricks made she of the three Mary blocked the ball using her hand, of which the referee pointed to the penalty spot which Adriano never did a mistake and put the ball in the net for1-0, the final score. The final was played at Moi municipal stadium Kisumu.This is the second time United are the champions in the league . The first timewas in 2007.

 

In 2008 the league did not take place because most teams feared Galactico United because they are to experienced in girls soccer, following now they are performing outside and inside the western Kenya.

 

Realizing this, we started to help other girls team by organiszing exchange programmes and playing with the friendliness of which has given most players inother teams confidence of playing in big matches like leagues and tournaments.Unlike before when it was only Galactico in Western Kenya. 

 

The organization has started organizing the GYRG girls open tournament inlate march 2010. The tournament will bring together girls and ladies, community based clubs, high school teams and college soccer teams. This will strengthen and help to develop the girls soccer in the western Kenya. The tournament will be anannual tournament called «Galactico Youth Recreational Group girls opentournament».

 

GYRG has relised two teams of girls to participate in the two on going girls tournaments in Emuhaya.
